Belated May 2026 Ink & Life

Whoops, I took pictures when I swapped my inks but then forgot to post!

Ink, pens and stickers used in May 2026

This month’s inks palette was put together by my kid.  I told him I wanted to use Brilliant Mint and he chose some he felt went well together:

  • Teranishi Brilliant Mint (bright blue-leaning teal)
  • Diamine Gala (purple)
  • Diamine Winterberry (red with red shimmer)
  • Diamine Bittersweet (bright light green)

Pens:

  • Pilot E95S <medium>
  • Platinum Preppy Wa – the cat one.  I swapped in a larger medium nib from another Preppy though.
  • Pelikan Pura <broad>
  • Sailor Fude (special anniversary edition with confetti on it!  So cute but also very long)

Stickers:  three of these are from stickii and I’m too lazy to look up the last one.

I had a bunch of skipping in the MD notebook I’ve been using last month, so I’ve been more careful about using a shield so my hands don’t get oils on the paper, plus I found an actual sketchbook for a lot of the drawing I’ve been doing so I wouldn’t be touching the page as much.  I can’t decide if this paper just doesn’t suit me or if I just shouldn’t have been drawing so much in this notebook.  I did swap to drawing in an actual sketchbook and doing paintings on watercolour paper, both of which are actually better than doodling in my journal, so I guess it worked out?  Kid and I have been doing a lot of art time together since we set up one of the bedrooms to be our craft room and set up a table by the window where the light is nice for painting and drawing.  It’s been fun!

Also fun this month: watching the world come alive with all the spring flowers.

I did have a week of allergies but they seem to be done so unlike my poor husband I don’t have to wince every time I see a new thing come into bloom.  Poor guy!  It’s also been really interesting to find out what is growing in our yard.  I have lilac bushes!  And forsythia!  and pansies!  It’s all very exciting over here.
